Cochin Shipyard Workmen Selection Process
The candidates who have applied for the Junior Technical Assistant (Mechanical, Electrical), Junior Commerical Assistant, Storekeeper, Operator (Plasma Plate Cutting Machine, Press, Pipe Bending, Crane, Plate Preservation), Welder cum Fitter [Welder/ Welder (Gas & Electric), Fitter] will be selected based on the following.
- Phase I- Objective Type Written Test
- Phase II (Descriptive/ Practical Test)

- Merit lists for the various posts shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the Phase I objective type online test.
- Based on the merit lists, candidates shall be shortlisted in the ratio 1:6 (maybe less than 1:6 also based on the applications) for certificate verification against each post.
- Only those candidates who successfully complete the certificate verification shall be allowed to attend the Phase-II Descriptive type /Practical test.
- At last a final merit list for the res[pective posts shall be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in both Phases I and Phase II tests put together. CSL also reserves the right to six minimum marks for pass in Phase II tests and final selection at its sole discretion.

- The phase I objective type online test shall consist of two parts General (Part A) and Discipline relates (Part B).
- The maximum number of questions and marks covered in Part A is 20.
- The maximum number of questions and marks covered in Part B is 50.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- There will be no negative marking for the wrong answer.
